HEA ♾️
The story begins when Auden is sent to spend the summer at her aunt’s house in the small town of Canmore, Canada. There she meets Elliot, a popular hockey player. They hang out that summer and quickly are attached to one another and become best friends.
We follow their relationship over the course of three summers and then college. 🗓️
This is your typical teenage rom-com movie. We have the hot popular guy that every girl wants to date, the girl who shows up out of nowhere and is SO different than everyone else, and of course, we have the mean girls. I don’t care if that’s cliché but I eat it up every time! 🍿
This book gave me butterflies 🦋 and it made me smile. I loved Auden for being so bold and going for what she wanted. The couch scene was so unexpected that I was laughing. 😂
I really thought nothing was going to happen but if you’ve read it you know it does! 😏 I was like “Go Auden!” 🔥
Also the boat scene!? I thought it was a bit awkward at first but it turned out to be a really deep and vulnerable scene between them.
Elliot was so dumb for not realizing sooner that he can make it work with her and still follow his dreams. Auden did all the work for him and I was like ✨ do something babe, say something!! ✨
Elliot was so closed off for so long even though he knew he loved her too.
My only complaint about this book is that I wished we got to see them as a couple in college. Instead, we jump to the epilogue where they’re already living together after college. I guess it’s open to interpretation that they somehow survived their long distance relationship and made it work, but it felt rushed. 🥹
The epilogue gave me an insight on how much Elliot has changed though. I remember he used to say he didn’t want kids because all he cared about was his hockey career and being different than his dad. However when Auden reveals she’s pregnant he’s excited and reveals he wants kids now, and I love him for how far he’s come. Both of them. 🫶🏽
