I have one question, and that is ‘how can this book have so good reviews?’. This book was so bad in every way possible. I don’t know if it’s just a poor translation or the way it was written but I barely understood any of the interpretations they had, but it can also have to do with how fast the story went. You didn’t even have time to breathe before something else happened.

The timeline was a mess and for me it seemed like their first kiss happened only like a day after they had first met, which it later seemed like it didn’t so I’m really confused about that as well. This was like reading a fast sketch of a story someone planned on writing…

We barely got any information about the character and it was impossible to get invested in the story when we didn’t get any chance to get to know them.

I also don’t understand that creep of a side character, who are supposed to be Sajo’s ex(?) but are also his teacher and more than thirty years old.

Really cute story, the translation version I have made it a little hard to understand.

gosh i don't really remember. my brain is fucked, my memory quickly passes (more on this when i leave my the memory police review) but i remember the mcs being very very cute. i am trying to write about it my brain is foggy. maybe my retention rate is lower when i read manga on a phone. how could it be? i finished many mangas since i started reading around 2021. then again, to rebut myself, i don't remember the details; i only get the general gist of the plot. is that redundant? who knows.

the prof was a bit creepy for liking a student, on their first day in high school mind you. good thing it did not turn to those creepy yaoi mangas with teacher-student relationships because fuck that shit. what's good japan?

what else do i remember...

kusakabe my little rockstar meow meow! he's in a band! how cool is that! that got rihito a little jealous because duh, a lot happen in gigs. i am yet to witness a small-scale one, but i know things get a little cute. girls try their best to get the musicians' numbers. that girl was thinking she'll have her silly, okay not silly, time-stopping pink floral background dreamy shoujo moment but kusakabe kisses boys! how is that?

speaking of the kisses, mr. kusakabe? is that his love language? he's a certified kiss stealer with how many times we caught him sneaking a kiss from poor rihito. boy just wants to breathe! instead he's bombarded with kisses! lord when!

with the languid and flowy art style of the characters, i do am looking forward to seeing the beautiful film adaptation, as chiefly recommended by my friend sophia. i have started volume 2 as well though i have little idea what's next now that fall has started. hoping rihito and kusakabe stay cute.

There’s always so much non-consensual content in BL.  The story also time skipped a bunch - I would’ve preferred the problematic content with Harasen be cut and replaced with sweet scenes building the relationship between Sajo and Kusakabe.
