All the same pros and cons as the first, but the characters are a bit more fleshed out on the whole so the emotional resonance is raised a bit. Other than that its more integrated with the Marvel universe and it also has better art than the previous story.

A dull and inevitable follow up to the original X-23 story. I remember enjoying Kyle & Yost's tenure on many of the X-books, but this one felt really forced. It was too reliant on the far superior, original X-23 book.

Mike Choi's art is solid and consistent, but its manga influence doesn't work for me on a Marvel title.

If you really loved the original X-23 run and want to read it again, but with additional characters, you might enjoy this.

Definitely a re-read. But still good upon re-reading. There is something about X-23 that I just like. Sure she's a killer especially in her back-story. And she's also an innocent. In this one we saw her early life through the eyes of Captain America who had the opportunity to stop her or deal with her in some way. Daredevil is there too but doesn't really do much. The writing is good and the art is good enough. But it just strikes the right chord. And in the end I believe Laura can rise above her past.

This series of comics was fantastic. This is a continuation of Laura’s origin story from X-23: Innocence Lost. This volume follows Captain America who’s captured Laura and makes her stand her case with Matt Murdock as her defender. This volume is also told in the past/present thing, which works for some incredible storytelling. The entire story was compelling, especially with Laura being such a intriguing character. I think I liked this even better than the first one.

Please read this if you ever read any Marvel comics. Especially if you want to get into Marvel comics and you don’t know where to start. I’d 100% recommend starting with this series

I don't understand the hate cap gets for this??? like he let her go!! and we understand laura so we can accept what she was made into. but cap didn't see all that right away as a normal human! He did what was normal which is suspect a killer.

PS I loved this.

So good! (Minus the hypersexualization a of a tween girl with the excuse that her cousin only has Goth clothes, but it would be reactionary to fault the story because of stupid fan service.)

'Darlin', they try to take you from there, then they're asking for a world of hurt.'

HOLY SHIT, THIS WAS EVEN BETTER IN PLACES THAN THE FIRST.

What a well-executed continuation to the previous arc. Laura in high school is such good stuff and finding a family only to—sobs. I really liked the not known before pieces from her origin story and man, she's gone through some fucked up shit. The villainess is great in this and Logan calling Laura kid is such a highlight alkjhsgdf.

This is totally worth 5 stars but I can't in good conscience give them because at 14 and even at 11 years old, Laura looks too sexualized and that's just not acceptable. Like I love the art and the arcs are amazingly well done but god, boobs and cleavage galore for that young a girl is just messed up.

Lastly, Steve Rogers can go fuck himself.
