Starting this series after finishing ACOTAR, I was expecting a very similiar world. And though I can see the similarities, it is very different. Best way to describe it is that TOG is a dystopian version of the world in ACOTAR. & so far, I am here for it. 
I like the characters, I like the world, and I love reading stories like this one and ACOTAR, that are led by some very basass women! I can’t wait to dive deeper into it all!

This book was good. The world building in this book is fantastic, and I really loved some of the characters. The book started off very slow and I had a hard time getting interested at the beginning, but after about 70 pages I couldn't put it down.

I quite liked this! There’s an awful lot of loose ends here which is a bit frustrating, but seeing as there’s so many more books in the series it makes sense. I like the protagonist a lot and the supporting characters are equally lovable, but they really got me with the puppy. I do wish there was either more backstory or more something to give us a real look at “the assassin” - we are told over and over again that she’s the best in the world but, like, SHOW me. Hopefully we get more of that in the coming books
