All of the content warnings are really for the whole series, as I can’t remember specifics to everything in this book.britwalsh16's review against another edition

I like the characters, I like the world, and I love reading stories like this one and ACOTAR, that are led by some very basass women! I can’t wait to dive deeper into it all!

Sword of Glass' main character suffers from a mild case of not-like-other-girls syndrome. All the characters are a little bland and wooden and predictable. There are too many named characters who don't matter at all and die with little payoff. The plot is a bit meandering with several slow spots (including, curiously, the last several chapters). I just didn't really feel anything while I was reading, but I was reasonably entertained.
Moderate: Death, Sexism, and Murder
Minor: Sexual assault, Slavery, Violence, Blood, Vomit, and War

I don’t have anything to say that has not already been said by my friends here, let alone every other reviewer. I think I’ve been “primed” for TOG so much that I knew exactly what to expect and wasn’t disappointed.
I’m excited to see where it goes from here. At this moment, I am glad that I read Assassin’s Blade first. I have literally no opinion on the love triangle men yet, but hey, I’ll always take a captain of the guard and a Crown Prince.
Royalty-based, medieval-feeling romantasy always does it for me.
