I'm going to be completely honest, I tend to be repelled by contemporary poetry. It's also worth saying that I'm not a poetry lover right off the bat when I could be reading narrative or even theater, but I can come to appreciate it and like it.

I found a depth in this collection that made me navigate through the book and flow over the pages as I became enveloped in the author's nakedness. It is a story of survival from assault that exudes pain and tenderness. It is raw and delicate. It is stark and ethereal. This one just hits different.

i didn't study the theory of the poem, but i believe that saying one sentence (and incidentally built like a quote), which could be at most the punch line of a joke.

Like flipping through someone’s journal/pinterest board filled with a lotta tarot & Greek mythology references.
Main themes were abuse, queerness & self acceptance.
Ace of wands: Poet airs her grievances - was my fave section. But also liked the bits about Pandora/Eve/Medusa.
I’m personally a Persephone girlie but still enjoyed the Aphrodite spin.
