A very cute, yet macabre book. Great for fans of witchery, both expert and novice, and I love the queer aspect, as it highlights the correlation between being different and being magical. I really loved how the Housekeeper was a sort of myth or parable created by the author. It served as a great avenue into some history and education on topics surrounding both gender and witchcraft, great for teens and young readers who are curious and/or searching.

Enjoyed this witchy mysterious YA book centred around tarot cards. Quite fun and wholesome but bigger issues tackled through plot points. I found it lost it's way a little in the middle and became a bit slow but set up nicely for the next two books in the series. Appreciated that Maeve was an imperfect teenager and very much fit the chaotic brain space of that age.

My main problem is that the author tried to be diverse and added a nonbinary character but used the wrong pronouns the whole book. It was just for the "ooh a character who's part of the queer community! Gotta read that" which ends up in an disappointment to me. I don't know how it was in the original tho, I read it in another language but to be fair that was really not the only issue of the book
