At first I absolutely loved this but towards the end, it just got too messy and it was more about the workplace then the romance. Like I’m not even sure if I would call this a romance but it was very gay and I loved that part.

DNF at 55%. Thank you to Dial Press and PRH Audio for the free physical and audiobook copies.

I really liked the representation of a group of queer friends/found family and that this went into some topics I haven’t seen discussed before. However - I went into this expecting a romance and really not getting it. I’m not feeling the sparks between Liz and Daria and this far into the book I’m not buying that they are either.

There's almost nothing (other than the OG P&P) that I love more than a contemporary P&P retelling. This one is sapphic on top of it, can you believe! I liked a lot about this - Daria and Liz are both great, and by making it a chosen family the author was able to retain the dynamics of the Bennetts with some modern updates.

I didn't quite love the last quarter - I thought when it strayed too far from the blueprint of the original, it got muddled in more contemporary romance tropes (miscommunication, 3rd act break up, etc) to the detriment of the characters and the story.

That said, overall this was a real treat!
