I've read other books by Vanessa, and just like her other books of poetry I remain impressed and intrigued by the beauty and depth of her words. She can convey a lot in a few lines. This was an honest example of pain, betrayal, remorse, nostalgia, and love tied together. These complicated and often tangled emotions were explored in a way that made it easy to relate to even if the experience wasn't something I was altogether familiar with.
