Okey, so I do love children, I really love them but I liked this book!
I love secret societies, organizations and I freaking love badass heroine/hero that has some special abilities and don't give a shit about protocol and still has a soft spot.
This book has some Stranger Things + some Buffy vibes with so much gore. I'm in a reading slump and graphic books and mangas help me a lot but this book was a big surprise!
The monsters are really not scary, it is the idea of kids found dead and also, it is really gore like very very much.

I loved the masks which I just want one for myself and it's really the best moment to wear one like this, the dolls funny cool but the only thing that we don't get is the how, I should wait for the next books.

Archer’s Peak, Wisconsin used to be a sleepy, cozy, quaint town. But now, nine children are dead and more are missing. Many suspect James, a boy found with the maimed bodies of his friends, but he swears he led them into the woods on a kind of prank. Then, a woman calling herself Erica Slaughter shows up in town and is acting, quite simply, suspiciously. What the locals don't know is that monsters are real and Erica is there is kill the child-eating monster plaguing their town. With the help of a mysterious talking purple plush octopus, Erica finds the nest of the monster and manages, with unexpected help, to rescue a child.

Dark, gory, and intriguing, Something is Killing the Children is sure to ensnare any horror lover. This first volume perfectly sets up a series with some questions answered, but so many remaining.

Of all the graphic novels I have ever read this is the most perfectly paced of them all, I think. It’s definitely in the top five. It moves perfectly, little about it feels rushed or abnormal which is a problem I encounter often in graphic novels.
The plot is engaging, the characters are cool. I am obsessed with Erica, she’s interesting and compelling and cool as heck.
I could go on forever about the art. There are so, so many good panels that I just had to stare at for a moment, the flow is perfect. The color and shading are everything.
I recommend this for anybody considering a dark, quick read with a fascinating world that you are bound to be pulled into.
