Long, laborious. This book dissappoints, of course her books have been leaning that way for some time. I just found the drudgery of her use of language eclipsed the quality of the story (as it is a wonderful story). I'll be done with the series now, sadly.

Re-read.  Tandem between the physical book and the amazing audio book version by Brendan Fraser. Let me tell you, probably my favorite audio book to this day.  Still part of my favorite middle grade book series, and in my top 5 series of all time.  Really just hammers home the magic of books and reading, and I 100% cried at the end. IYKYK 😭

Cornliea Funke's second book in her "InkHeart" trilogy, "InkSpell" certainly deserves its name. In my humble opinion, "InkSpell" absolutely captivates and holds the attention of it's audience much better than that of her first book "InkHeart". I believe this because while "InkHeart" takes place in the real world, "InkSpell" brings it's readers along with the characters into the book of "Inkheart" into the ink world.

Funke has truly created a masterpiece with this book. It is heart-warming, thrilling, terrifying, gut-wrenching, and much more. The way Funke weaves events and her characters together in this brilliant installment of her series is truly masterful.

I would avidly recommend this book to anyone! IT is a wonderful book and the reader is easily transported from this world into the magnificent world of "InkSpell". Happy reading.
