This book is a bit of a slower burn than many of the Brunetti stories, involving an opera singer slightly known to Brunetti, and her stalker. As ever though, I read the book to spend time in the back streets of Venice in the company of Brunetti, his colleagues and his family, and relished the story as it moved up a gear wity the ever-present threat of an unhappy ending. As ever, a good read.

Somewhere between 2 and 3 stars. I still like the series, but this felt very slow and pedestrian.

The investigation meanders a bit, but it's more of an exploration of the main character's attitude towards music and worldview, than a proper thriller novel. Still fun though
