I really wanted to like this more than I did, but it was so poorly organized that I often forgot where the characters were in time. I would have liked to have seen this broken up into more than one book or even just organized more clearly. Also the pagination seemed to be off, which is really just me having #publishingproblems but it seems like it could have been very easily fixed in the later production stages.

This book had me reading til the wee hours of the morning after having taken a shot of Nyquil convinced that I'd only be reading for a few minutes.

Hooked from the first page by the incredible artwork and *insane* realities of this book. It felt like I was back in middle school...and just like those days, I wanted to get through this book as fast as possible so it could just be *over*.

Great read!

Shifting friendships, embarrassment, early crushes, anxiety and elementary school.

I've forgotten a lot of what I felt and battled back in the day. This helped to refresh some memories.

I enjoyed this follow up to REAL FRIENDS and definitely felt like I went on a trip down memory lane to my 1980s junior high school experience! This will be a popular read but because of a few mature scenes, I would recommend this one for middle school audiences.

Great elementary/middle school graphic novel. Semi-auto-biography, which makes it more poignant, since most of us have gone thru middle school already.

Oh my gosh, Shannon Hale has captured how hard it is to understand friends in Junior High. I so sympathize with this memoir of her life in sixth grade. I too wrote stories, and couldn't' understand all the rules that my friends had.

She is so right that it is like a game where the rules are constantly changing.

This is a sad book, but so needs to be said. Girls can be mean, without being Mean Girls™

The crushing anxiety must have been so hard, but I'm glad that she came into her self, in this volume of her story.

Not a fun book, but a good book just the same.

I thankfully didn't have to deal with this much drama in middle school (homeschooling ftw), but I still saw a lot of myself at that age in Shannon, and it... Made me feel things. So.
