An adventuring group of badass women who aren't afraid to be exactly who they are. This band of 4, The Rat Queens, are a nuisance and when someone tries to dispose of them they have to find out who and why so they can give them a piece of their mind.

These characters are a breath of fresh air, they are unapologetically themselves which does not include fluffy females who are afraid of getting dirty. They cuss when they want, fight whoever they want, and sleep around with whoever they want all the while kicking the butts of bad guys and there may be some looting in there along the way. Not a graphic novel for kids, but I definitely enjoyed the first 2 volumes and can't wait to continue with the series.

I thought this was a pretty good comic. What bothered me a little bit was that towards the end of the deluxe edition, some of the art changed during a big battle scene. That kind of threw me off. The story was for the most part engaging and it didn't feel like it was all over the place. I just wish the art could have stayed a little closer to the original style.

Collects Volume 1 of Rats Queens, issues #1-10 (issues #11-16 were in a seperate TPB and may or may no be considered canon...)

Super fun, characters that you are not sure if you should root for or be horrified by because they would be, objectively, terrible neighbours. But great at parties. For a while anyway.

Very much pays homage (and pokes fun at) D&D and classic epic fantasy, while also just revelling in it's own bloodiness, slapstick, sexiness, and imagination. Just a lot of fun. Also, Braga is the best.

While it's not included in this edition, I did like the Demon's arc (#11-15) as it was ongoing, but obviously it never got resolved due to "creative differences" between the creators, and it kinda seems like they wrote themselves into a corner because the rebooted volume 2 of the series tries to awkwardly ignore/hand-wave it away.
