I think “The Hunger Games meets Harry Potter” is an accurate description. I love the idea of art and creativity being magic. Read this one aloud to my 11 year old and I enjoyed it as much as they did I think. Bought the whole series second-hand and we’re excited to see what happens next! (And I’d love to see some of the hybrid creatures in this story IRL)

4.5 stars - It never occurred to me that a middle grade, magical, dystopian novel existed, but here it is! This book is the perfect solution for parents who aren't quite sure whether their kids should read book series' like The Hunger Games, or Divergent.
