It was so interesting to see Holly, Jay and Lion as kits, and how they came to see Squirrelflight as their mother. Starclan and the warrior code is detestable as always but I love this little family of cats so I couldn't help but absolutely love this book. I found it a bit funny how Crow just immediately moves on.

the drawback of novellas is that too much happens a bit too fast, and sometimes i don't think the characters sounded like themselves, but i sure did almost cry for a lot of this.
also, arguably, the three being raised knowing they were half-clan but still wanted by thunderclan would actually serve the plot better since all the clans are supposed to be uniting against the dark forest, no?
