Undoubtedly a masterpiece; a strange, feverish, and difficult read for me. I deeply admire Carson's vision and will read more of her work.

I’ve never read anything like this book…it’s so profoundly enormous and tenderly intimate at the same time. I have a feeling this book is gonna stick with me for a really long time, there’s something so indescribable and special about it.

Words bounce. Words, if you let them, will do what they want to do and what they have to do.

I read this in a class assignment. As a visual artist I found this book by far one of the best. The way it is written, you can visually make it out, which I find very rare in books. It's a beautiful poem about love and you feel apart of Geryon's misery and life.

Anne Carson, I have a lot of questions, but like, in a good way. Why Geryon and Herakles? Why Dickinson and volcanoes? Why loneliness, longing, heartbreak, and immortality? Why, of all things, red again and again?
I don't think I fully understand it, which is why I cannot confidently rate it (yet). But I love it. Haven't read anything like it. Took me a while to get into it but then I didn't want it to end, so I'll probably get back to this sooner rather than later.
