Gossip columnist, Kayla Jones, can't stand rich men like Noah Whittaker - old money and a player. When he challenges her to get to know him, to allow her to write an article that could get her a promotion, she reluctantly agrees. She doesn't expect to find herself falling for him.
A certain formula is often ascribed to Mills & Boon romance novels, but they do their job well and remain popular with readers. I read this for research with a view of perhaps trying to write for Mills & Boon myself, though also as something of a guilty pleasure.
I was happily surprised at the depth of the characters in this story, especially when it came to Noah. The chemistry between the main characters was believable and did not feel forced. Their relationship, though obviously expediated because of the genre, developed naturally.
The plot kept my interest, and I read this book in one two hour sitting.
There is sex in this book, but it is not as explicit as erotica would be. It gives just enough whilst not crossing that (admittedly blurry) line.
Not my first Mills & Boon, but most likely not my last either.
