Just like the movie and more. It was such a breath of fresh air from genres I typically read and I can’t wait to read the rest of the Indy books!

What a classic!
This book was fantastic, from the adventure,to the fighting scenes and the romance, amazing!!!
Indiana Jones brings together all of our favorite tropes in adventure books, including fighting off traps and exploring old caves, and finding cursed objects.
This was such a ride and I loves every bit of it, from his sarcastic comments, to his ever growing love for his little lasso.
I can't wait to continue this series and learn more about everyone's favorite explorer.

Campbell Black does quality work recounting out the events of the film without just merely recounting the events of the film. But the stuff that's not from the film - be it either original Black material or things that were cut from the script or the final edit - leave a bit to be desired. And, through no fault of Black, quite a few of the film's most iconic moments and lines were devised during production, so the book feels lacking. Most importantly, Indy feels a bit out of character, due to how much Ford moulded him past what was on the page. Still, a very interesting read in its own right.

Felt hollow compared to the films and was very average. Didn’t like the constant references to Marion being a child or the fact that he had a relationship with a student either. Or the fact that Marion was such a weak character and just couldn’t resist Belloq🙄. Much preferred the films.

I really enjoyed reading this book. It helped bridge the gap in certain scenes from the movie where vital information had been left out. And it's always fun getting inside the head of my all time favorite character. Some of the scenes are different from the movie, which is fine but makes me nostalgic. Like Marion not saying "I'm your god damned partner," which is one of my favorite lines from the movie. All in all, it gives a good look into the mind of Indy and you learn a little bit more about characters and plot. Great and exciting read!

The 14th Indiana Jones book I've read and the first in the film series of novels Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark maintains much of the charm and excitement seen in its film counterpart however unlike the Temple of Doom novel many of the additional scenes and dialogue make the novel noticeably worse than its film counterpart. The "Washinton Men" and "Indy's Home" scenes in particular are noticeably worse than their film counterpart however this doesn't take away too much from the excellent story and characters that remain.
