This was a good fantasy. The world building was good. The character growth was good. My only complaints are: the pacing, I felt the book was a bit slow for the first 70%, and the plot is about 85% political intrigue with one big battle and the end and a handful of action scenes leading up to it. I think it’s a good book and worth a read, however, it wasn’t one I couldn’t put down.

I have to DNF this one. It took me three weeks to get 1/4 the way through and my library hold expired.

Two more library holds and an ebook deal later, I’ve finished this one! Which feels like a feat itself after 7 weeks! For those brave enough to try: Sink into this one.
