I read this very quickly cause I wanted to know what was going to happen. I was very happy with how the author upped the romance in this one. I really wish the next book was out. I am loving the storyline, although as with the previous books it could do with a bit more editing. There are quite a few repetitive words that are annoying, and it is confusing at times. I thought she was supposed to be more powerful and then the author says she is an omega. I thought they all died. Anyway, I still want to read the next one.

SUMMARY: (SPOILER WARNING)

After Emit collapses from the Portocale curse when a Portocale gypsy was killed, Violet stays by his side to help him recover. Once he’s up and walking again, he insists that she come with him and Vance on a hunt to find some unregistered wolves.

But the hunt goes awry when a horde of hundreds of pureblood wolves (wolves who were born, not made) attack them. Thankfully Damien and Arion are there to help fight back.

Along the way Vance also finds out about Violet being immortal and they are all trying to piece together her origins and the purpose her mother had for her coming to Shadow Hills. Meanwhile, Arion still believes her to be mortal and a temporary fix for their group.

As they fight enemies that surround them at every turn, they work together to try to fight the wrongs of the past and undo the curses that have plagued them for years.

REVIEW:

Gypsy Origins reveals more of Violet’s origins, and finally shows us exactly what the guys did to procure the Portocale death curse. Lots of secrets and answers revealed! It also has a lot of setup for what seems to be an upcoming battle with Idun once she rises.

I enjoyed Violet growing closer to the guys in this one too. I especially loved her threesome with Damien and Vance! ;) She’s still cautious with them, but I actually completely understand her motives for not giving in to them completely (especially with Arion). She feels like she could be pushed aside for Idun at any moment and I totally get that. Especially in regards to Arion, who does seem to still be a little delusional when it comes to Idun.

I do feel like the other three are 100% team Violet at this point. But Arion is tougher. He mentions Violet being a punishment for Idun because Violet is mortal and temporary. So I feel like his reasons for holding back opening up to her are because (until the very end of this book) he believes her to be mortal. And he doesn’t want to be hurt by caring for her too much. I also think once he sees Idun again, he will see through her facade more now that he’s seen Violet and how real she is. Just my thoughts, but we will see how things go in the next book now that he knows about her immortality.

I was a little confused by the whole thing regarding her mother, Marta, and gypsy-hopping. I didn’t really understand this and was confused what this meant. Is her mom one of those that are buried and she was possessing her physical mom’s body? I just didn’t get it. I hope that is better explained in the next book.

I also don’t really understand how she is a Portocale and Neopry. Does that mean her dad is a Neopry or has some history of that in his family line? Or is her dad even her real dad? Or was Marta part Neopry? Just confused about all that.

So some confusing things, but I’m still really invested in the story. I can’t wait to see how they take down Idun. That’s gonna be tough since she’s immortal. I’m curious to see how that all will go.

Overall it’s still a great series! Some of the lore is a little convoluted and confusing. But it’s still interesting and the characters, relationships, and plot are all so well done! This one leaves off with a cliffy so I’m on to the next one!

P.S. I’m still mad about Anna. Please bring her back!

So, things are starting to get a bit convoluted, but still liking it. I do wish Violet had more chances to be a badass. I'm glad we are finally getting some answers, but wth is up with even more questions?!

AND THE CLIFFHANGER!!! I need the next one in my life!

I’m so confused as to what the hell is going on. I feel like I missed something. And when did Violet start thinking she was an omega and why? I don’t get it..

I love Shera, I hope she and Violet end up being besties. It could be because I am a bit ~inebriated~ but there were some parts of the story I simply did not follow along with. I'm glad Arion finally knows that Violet's immortal now at least.
