Farmer Giles of Ham: The Rise & Wonderful Adventures of Farmer Giles, Lord of Tame, Count of Worminghall and King of the Little Kingdom

First against a Troll and then against the Dragon of ancient kind and imperial lineage, and very rich, Chrysophylax.

This is a fabulous tale from J.R.R Tolkien, not in the Hobbit or Lord of the Rings realm, but still a nice and enjoyable, cosy read.

Just like Smith of Wootton Major I didn't enjoy this quite as much as I remember liking it (it was still a fun little read). I think it may suffer from not having the illustrations that the book I read as a child did.

Absolutely delightful. It's no LOTR, but I very much enjoyed the ride. I can't believe I hadn't heard about it before.
