The Socialite Meets the Mobster: A Love Story for the Ages (Or a Really Crazy Netflix Series)

Daisy Haites by Jessa Hastings is like your favorite cocktail: a perfect mix of sophistication, danger, and just the right amount of zing to keep you coming back for more. If you ever wondered what would happen if The Godfather had a love child with Gossip Girl, well, here’s your answer!

From the first page, I was hooked. Daisy Haites is not your average high-society darling. Imagine Blair Waldorf, but with a penchant for dodging bullets and a soft spot for bad boys. Daisy is the epitome of grace under fire – literally. Whether she’s navigating the treacherous waters of London’s elite or getting caught up in her family’s less-than-legal activities, she does it all with style, wit, and an enviable wardrobe.

Then there’s Christian. If you haven’t fallen in love with a fictional character lately, prepare yourself. Christian is the kind of guy who makes you want to question your own life choices. He’s dark, brooding, and, despite his questionable career choices, undeniably charming. Together, Daisy and Christian are like fire and gasoline – volatile, explosive, and utterly captivating.

The supporting cast? Pure gold. Each character is more colorful than the last, from the suave and slightly unhinged gangsters to the impeccably dressed and delightfully catty socialites. It’s a melting pot of drama, humor, and the occasional gunfight – think of it as a very posh, very dangerous reality TV show.

Jessa Hastings’ writing is sharp, fast-paced, and peppered with enough humor to keep you laughing even as the plot thickens. Her knack for creating vivid, larger-than-life characters and putting them in the most outlandish yet believable situations is nothing short of genius. One moment you’ll be on the edge of your seat, the next you’ll be chuckling at Daisy’s deadpan humor and quick wit.

It had a tiny bit of the back and forth/ miscommunication which I found a tiny bit annoying in Magnolia Parks. But I still loved this book and would easily read it again. That’s always my measure for a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read!

Daisy Haites is a wild, glamorous ride through the underbelly of London’s elite. It’s a love story wrapped in a crime drama, tied up with a big bow of humor. If you’re looking for a book that’s as thrilling as it is funny, look no further. Just remember to keep your seatbelt fastened and enjoy the ride – it’s one you won’t forget anytime soon!

This was such a fun ride! I love the characters so much! The drama, tension and lust was so good and I thought about the book constantly when I didn’t have time to listen.

I really didn’t vibe with Magnolia Parks but I was listening to a podcast and the girls really loved it and said they listened to audiobook so I gave the series another chance. I’m definitely a Daisy girl! The narrators were to die for and really suited the characters. They portrayed the story so so well!

I’m so obsessed with Daisy, her confidence and relationships with her brother, the lost boys, Romeo and most of all Christian. I usually get over the miss communication trope pretty quickly but Jessa wrote it so well! Their inner-monologue was so fun! Julian and Christian are so hot in their brute but caring ways, I love them both for different reasons! I want to be Daisy

I will definitely continue the series now, I’m hoping listening to Magnolia Parks instead of reading will be better.

5⭐️ I love this book, and I hate this book. Everyone is incredibly toxic and I can't get enough of it. I'm almost sad to go back to a Magnolia centered book after reading about this set of characters. I felt so many things.

But Christian.... ugh

Spent the first half of the book thinking I liked Daisy more than Parks.
Wrong. More entitled brats and toxic, back and forth relationships. Yawn. Shit ending. The characters actually developed into worse people!!
Also hire more fucking proofreaders or something jesus christ so many typos and errors
