It was cute and ejoyable overall, but there were some things I didn't like: Kara jumped to conclusions too easily and was too judgemental in some occasions, and was overly pushy about Ben fostering Chaos when he had 0 pet experience prior, and Ben for all he talked about trust and how he tried to enforce boundaries with his family, ignored Kara's even if it turned out well in the end; I also didn't like the way everyone kept pressuring Ben about forgiving his brother, and the fact that he did forgive him in the end, idk how I feel about that, and the last couple of chapters left me reeling a little
Graphic: Gaslighting and Abandonment
Moderate: Medical content and Injury/Injury detail
Minor: Child abuse, Misogyny, Panic attacks/disorders, Excrement, Death of parent, and Pregnancy

the writing of a cat café christmas is simple. it is easy to understand but there will always be something to learn! the character development is admirable and i am in love with how the ending turned out. codi gary REALLY shows us that flawed people still deserve a happily ever after.
kara had her life thrown into shambles by her ex-fiancé, making it difficult for her to open her heart to anyone.
ben cut off a part of his family due to what happened with his ex-wife, resulting in him moving across the country to start a new life.
we get their backstories from different sources such as themselves, friends, family, and social media (it is set in present day with mentions of tiktok, instagram, etc.).
throughout this book we learn about the struggles, the love, and the support that the café, cats within, and characters receive and how they overcome, cherish, and (somewhat) accept.
this book also shows us that it is okay to be in a “funk” and not know which direction your life is going, but also how to deal with your everyday responsibilities and learning how to accept that the past is, literally, the past.
i absolutely adored this book and it made me emotional several times (i even shed a few tears at the end).
there were no vulgar/swear words and only had one scene that could have been deemed as “spicy” but with no explicit details.
overall, i truly enjoyed the book, it is definitely young adult friendly, easy to read and understand, and i would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone looking for:
•a holiday book
•a romance story
•a book revolving around cats
•a quick, fun read
