I received this book as a Goodreads giveaway. I liked this take on an after life and ghost origins. The two main characters had interesting voices and I stayed up much too late reading them.

No book I have ever had has made me feel so many emotions. Particularly anger, fear, and frustration. It was so well written! Also very original. I wasn’t expected much when I started it but I was very surprised and enjoyed When They Fade despite being really scared while reading it. I really just want more Tatum and Scott content to be honest, they’re so cute.

Five stars.

Amazing.

Loved every second of it.

The author's take on the afterlife (at least for the "Haunters") was amazing. How things panned out in that direction were wonderful.

Tatum... Oh man, her story was hard to read. It was so hard knowing she'd been framed by Claudette and that everyone was doing such awful crap to her. Like Molly, I wanted to slap her a couple of times and say "Oh my GOD a ghost just told you you're gonna die PAY ATTENTION!" But there was sweet, sweet justice in the end, and I loved it.

I also liked how the author painted Claudette in a sort of gray-area. Mr. Paracini was an asshole and undoubtedly harbored the lion's share of the blame, but Claudette was no wilting-flower innocent victim, either. Aside from the crap that she pulled with Tatum, she literally says at the beginning that if the affair ever came to light she'd claim that Paracini forced himself on her- so, basically, she was going to accuse him of raping her and that she wasn't consenting whatsoever. What a bitch.

Molly. Oh man, Molly. Along with the other "Haunters", it was so difficult to watch her reflect on her life knowing how things ended for her. Even though things did work out somewhat in the end for them, it hurts knowing that she hasn't had a chance to reunite with her family or friends in the afterlife, and probably never will.

Great, great book.

This book was about 2 girls, one who is dead and one who is alive and I absolutely adored it. The way the author talks about their lives and explains everything in detail was amazing. I definitely loved this book and would recommend to anyone who wants to get sucked into a book and never wanting to stop reading.

Good plot, with a really interesting concept, but weak on some of the explanations. I also wish we had gotten a little more aftermath, because I really would have loved seeing a convo between Tatum and her parents on whether or not they really did believe her. Also, screw all Tatum's classmates/teachers, I wanted to see them squirm now that they know they're wrong.

So incredible. Excellent portrayal of violence and the damage it can do, as well as the emotional hell that having an entire small town agains you can be. Love the supernatural elements and the characterization and the female friendship and all of it!
