Ouch. That’s what I can say about this book, is OUCH. The betrayals, the lies… just ow. That was not how I was expecting this book to go. This has been my favorite book in the series so far. I loved Everblaze, but this one takes the cake. I a really hope things with Keefe get fixed, because I cannot take another book like that. The entire thing with Calla dying hurt. A lot. So did Alvar. Why can’t the Vackers have one good thing? And after finding out why Stina was always rude to Sophie, I can understand that. I was definitely not expecting the reveals in here. Tiergan being Granite was something I didn’t really expect, along with Forkle being Sir Astin & Magnate Leto. I’m definitely excited to see where the story goes from here, though, I can only hope things with Keefe get better than what they are right now. Overall, I give this book 5/5 stars, and a (possibly temporary) spot on the Hall of Fame shelf.

The problem with reading through a series and then going back and writing a review is that you are so immersed in the story that they all sort of blend together and you can't separate one from the other. In this one we learn more about Keefe, the Neverseen, what Exilium is like, and the Black Swan. We are exposed more to the failings of the Elve's utopia. There are some interesting truths in this book, about first impressions from both sides, and about secrets. I really love this series and I really enjoy how the characters are changing and growing. I love that events do affect them and their personalities. This book is for those who have read the rest and can't wait to find out more!

Minutes ticked by and Sophie tugged on her eyelashes. After all she'd been through, she deserved a nervous habit.

This is my favorite installment so far! I appreciated that the characters began to take on different shades of their personalities and that we’re seeing so much more of the world.

Not many books can make 670 pages fly by but Neverseen was an exception. It honestly flew by and I loved it! I know I've said it before but these books bring about such a wholesome feeling for me and I am yet to be disappointed by a book in this series! I love the way the author structures her books. She is able to insert such great philosophical wisdom (for example, I loved the discussion on human lifespan found on pg. 376) in a story which revolves around elves with magic powers. How cool is that?
Spoiler I totally called Keefe joining the Neverseen. I'm not happy about it, I just knew it would have to come to it eventually. Alvar's betrayal did take me by surprise though and I'm interested to see how that dynamic affects their family in the next book!
I was not aware of the fact that Dex and Sophie are cousins by adoption until this book, it was probably mentioned before I just forgot, but that was an interesting twist. Hopefully no romance arises between them though because with the family connection that would be a bit strange. You know I already have book 5 on reserve at the library and will be counting down the days until it comes in! Happy Reading :)

Uhh . . . so that took me about a month to finish.
Not that Neverseen is boring. In fact - quite the opposite! This book is one of my favorites in the series and there is so much plot, from the plague and the ogres to Sophie and the gang moving to Alluveterre, to Exillium, to meeting Tam and Linh, to Alvar's betrayal, to Keefe joining the Neverseen . . . the list goes on! It never failed to keep me entertained.
I have just been so extremely busy, it's looking like I won't get through the series for a long while. Hopefully over the holiday breaks coming up I can get some reading done!
