Weetzie Bat is all grown up and having a mid-life crisis at age 40. My Secret Agent Lover Man, who is now just Max, and Weetzie haven’t been having good times for 2 years, so Weetzie goes off to a pink hotel where she experiences magic kisses and re-discovers life and love. Wonderful.

This book somehow feels both more and less magical than the other Weetzie Bat books. I think maybe that's the idea, since Weetzie is all grown up in this story. It felt less like reading cotton candy and more like slipping into a comfy pair of silk pj's.

A great follow-up, with Weetzie at 40.

Something about the Weetzie Bat books feels like home to me. They make me remember who I really am inside, and who I want to be, and where I want to go. This one was no different.

Compared to //Weetzie Bat// (which I LOVED), this seemed a bit forced. Still fun, and if you're a Weetzie fan you've probably got to read it.

This book was like meeting up with your best friend from high school that you used to see bands and drive around with, and picking up right where you left off, 10 years later. I grew up reading the Weetzie Bat series, which followed her when she was a teenager. So I loved reading about Weetzie just as she turns 40 and seeing her face new problems-- I was a little apprehensive, wondering if a sequel so many years later could live up to the original . But it did! A lovely read

This is such a beautiful follow-up book to Dangerous Angels (the Weetzie Bat collection). It's grown up in the way that the Weetzie Bat books aren't, but the spirit is still the same.
