I decided to read this because I wanted a book to listen to while at work and I saw this audiobook was only 3 hours and after I read what this book is about I thought I would give it a shot. I ended up finishing it while at work and I really enjoyed it.

This book is a really well written book that deals with a wide range of important topics, one of the biggest one being what it's like dealing with mental and physical disabilities and how the world treats you. Some of the other topics being sexual assault, teenage pregnancy, abuse, the foster system, Abandonment, and adoption. I felt like this book dealt with these topic's beautifully and really showed you what it's like to have mental disabilities in our world today.
I really enjoyed how this book was written in a diary type of format and I honestly really enjoyed the writing.
All together I really enjoyed this book and I'm really glad I picked it up. It tells a really important story that I think everyone needs to hear and it is done beautifully.

Girls Like Us was a really empathetic account of two young women with intellectual disabilities learning to make their way in the world. It highlighted how extremely vulnerable this group is, particularly to sexual abuse and exploitation. But I loved the way Biddy and Quincy learnt to appreciate and support each other and stand up for themselves.
