Kinda ZZZ, nice to have nore Anakin background and a bit of pre-Ep II Seperatist action.

I enjoyed our new little bite size friend in this one. A lot of the rest of the book was uninteresting and repetitive though. Several passages seemed to be repeated and not just in separate chapters. Their was one that I read a couple of pages after the first one. There were also a lot of confusing segments. Places where thoughts seemed to be incomplete, and I had to spend time trying to figure out what the intent was.

This was a great legends book. I know I shouldn’t judge it by how well it fits into the canon, but this one did quite well. I loved seeing Obi-Wan and Luminara interact. With only a few moments of “Oh, that’s not canon”, this felt in line with the events I know and love.

DNF at page 173 (although read the last few pages just to see what happened). The book felt low stakes with how slow it moved. It felt disjointed, and the characters didn't feel developed.

Okay but can we talk about how unappreciated this book is? Luminara (AKA mom) is such a badass, Barriss is a total sweetheart, and Obi-Wan and Anakin are just as funny as ever. I think it's about time these two minor characters get some page time because let's face it they're extremely looked over in the Star Wars universe.

ok this book took me like 3 weeks to finish because i wasn't hooked at all and it felt like a chore. idk if it was cos it was confusing, or it was the politics or just the shitty descriptions but i hated this book. ok maybe hate is too strong but it wore me out to write an actual 'review' of it. actually the coruscant-based politics were ok, i just felt like whatever was going on in ansion was all over the place and super dragged out to add more unnecessary scenes. but it was ok, it's leaning more toward the below average side but whatever. it had obi-wan, anakin, luminara and barriss so i shouldn't complain. i've seen reviews that say it helped provide more depth for the characters but i disagree because there was like no depth LMAO. anyways i don't want to think about this anymore and i will continue this chronological read of my sw book collection with brotherhood which i'm super hyped about.
