There are so many emotions after finishing up this duology...
But suffice it to say that I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know these characters. I'm mad at myself that it took so long getting into this universe, but I'm glad I know now.

While I still love the characters, world, and relationships created in book one I found this book harder to get through.

I had a hard time focusing on it and I think it’s a consequence of having a lot going on. There were just a lot of plot threads and it switched between them frequently. While they all tied together in a way that made sense it was overwhelming and I think slowed down the book.

Overall I think I would come back to the book, but I’m not in the headspace to read it at the moment.

I liked this one even better than Six of Crows.  I was hooked from the beginning, the middle was action-packed, and the ending was satisfying without giving everything away.  Not in an “up for interpretation” sense, but more like a “leaving things open for potential future stories” sense.  Also great for fanfiction.  I love the characters in this duology and the nods to other Grishaverse characters.
