An amazing, quirky collection of short stories, prom nights from hell is even better than love is hell.

I bought this book because Stephenie Meyer was a contributor. It's a decent young-adult book of horror short stories. I liked most of the stories and I think it's worth the read if you like scary stories.

Owerall I liked all 5 stories and its a solid 4 star.

First story
Meg Cabot: The Exterminator's Daughter - 5 stars loved it!

This story reminded me how much I love Meg Cabbot's writing style. The story on itself was a wonderfull suprise for me - I'm a devoted Buffy fan and this story somewhat remided me very much of the Buffy the vampire Slayer. Little things here and there had me reading on with glee.

Second story
Lauren Myracle: The Corsage - 4 stars Cute!

Starts of slow but the end gives homely chill feeling. A textbook example of YA horror with a moral of the story at the end - Carefull what you wish for!

Third story
Kim Harrison: Madison Avery and the Dim Reaper - 3,5 stars interesting

Rather cute intro into YA series. Loved the ending and the characters have lots of potential. It got me interested in more. But angel/grim reaper type of stories were never my favorite

Fourth story

Michele Jaffe: Kiss and Tell - 3,5 stars very intriguing

This is a very short story with lots of things going on. Loved the Wonder Woman refference. I found it very appealing.

Fifth story

Stephanie Meyer: Hell on Earth - 3,5 star

It was a bit confsing at the begining but I thought the ending was funny. Cute story and though I'm not big fan of angel type stories a bit more of this and I might be convinced.

Really wanted to power through but it was so dull, dialogue and stories were poor across the board and felt almost unedited.

This book consists of 4-5 stories from different authors. It was great to read a book which was written by many different authors. Also, all the stories were great and had to do with supernatural creatures.

If I had to rate them all seperately it would be like this:

Exterminator's Daughter: ***** stars.

The Corsage: ***** stars.

Madison Avery and the Dim reaper: *** stars.

Kiss and Tell: * star.

Hell on Earth: ** stars.

Overall it was a good book, too bad about the last 2 stories, they were just too confusing, and boring to be fun. :(

Other then that, the book was great. 5 good authors combine their powers to make this book. 5 stories.
I especially loved the Corsage book. It teaches us to think about our wishes, because they might have deadly consequences.

I would recommend this to everyone who likes short stories with paranormal stuff happening. :) Ofcourse romance is included.

I admit I bought this for the Stephenie Meyer story - eager to eat up anything she writes - but it was a pleasantly fun read. I love it when anthologies expose me to new authors I wouldn't have found otherwise and there were definitely a couple of those in this one. Not a mind blowing read, but fast and enjoyable.

I thought that these stories were very cute, though not scary at all.

What happens when fairly good YA authors try to write a collection of short stories together?
100% chance of Bad books. The cover is a big plus though, that rose is gorgeous.

And I just get so happy when I manage to track one down... it gets my hopes up. There are reasons books are hard to find

"Hell on earth" - No characterization at all: What we know Sheba->demon Gabe & Christen-sen(I'll give you this-it's indirect-still genes), half-angel ->the conclusion? Genes drew them together, you know? Like in "breeding". No psychology, no idea, no deeper meaning, no relation to the Prom theme. It's like the old story of the depressive couple who first met in a bar, as much meaning as that.

"The Exterminator's daughter" - And it keeps going. I read the Mediator thing and it was fairly good. This is ... (words may leave me for a moment of recollection). Mary - no personality, Lila - an idiot, Ted - an idiot, Adam - clueless. Please remind me, why must I read this?
