I really enjoyed the first half of this novella, the relationship between Emilia and Julio was enticing and interesting enough that I wanted to keep reading about them. Maybe I was too stupid to understand the literary references littered throughout this book, I was left unsatiated when I finished it.

This book made me want to cry. It didn't move me to tears, but the hollow atmosphere of the book is infectious. It's a shame how short it is, but it could not be any longer or shorter - it is just so.

A beautiful little novel made up of love, loss, and some really tender and breathtaking angst.

I did not find this book interesting or moving in any way. I’m glad I only borrowed it and didn’t actually buy it.
