Interesting take on the classic 'Sleeping Beauty'. The princess acted a bit like a spoiled brat at first, but she became likeable after really becoming exposed to our current society.

This book was a re-telling of Sleeping Beauty, when she wakes up in the modern world and has to deal with the immodest clothing styles, parties, bars, and smoking. She starts to fall in love with the peasant who awoke her, and they find themselves liking eachother more and more. Although the story for this book was very well done and thought out, it was highly inappropriate for any ages. I don't think that they should talk about that crap in books, it is just disgusting, but oh well, the damage is done. Overall, young teens and children should steer clear of this book.

I grabbed this book because I was trying to get through [b:Reindeer Moon|111646|Reindeer Moon (Reindeer Moon, #1)|Elizabeth Marshall Thomas|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1171652256s/111646.jpg|873484], and it was going so slooooow. I figured I should grab a book I knew I could read fast just to remind why I liked reading. Not that Reindeer Moon is terrible or anything, I actually really like it-it's just so SLOOOOOOW.
I've only ever read [b:Beastly|544891|Beastly (Kendra Chronicles, #1)|Alex Flinn|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1334260193s/544891.jpg|532177] by her before, but I remember getting sucked in super quick, so I figured this one would be quick too.
It was actually really good! I couldn't put it down-I read it in a day!
It was super cute, despite it getting a little too kissy too quick. I loved that it was in First Person Present Tense for both, too-it was fun getting the girl's point-of-view, and it felt more casual in present tense.

It was amazing! I have never been very familiar with or a big fan of sleeping beauty, preferring stories like snow white and the little mermaid but this book is making me rethink that. I had also never read anything by this author but now I am looking forward to reading more of her books. I loved Jack and Talia and all of the characters. At first, I liked Talia, and then she started acting super bratty but she got a lot better towards the middle of the book and I loved her again. She changed her attitude into something that could be admired. I have always wanted to read or write a fairytale that could be pulled off in modern times and this book was definately that. I loved the way the author made the story go from one era to another without a confusing time travel explaination. I also loved how the language from Tailia 's time was mixed into the modern time. I am looking forward to reading more from this incredible author!

This is a very fun, fluffy retelling of Sleeping Beauty. It's very much geared to a younger audience, as the tone of the story is light and the narrators voices are young. It doesn't ever get too serious and it is perfect for early-teen readers. Not a book I particularly loved, but if I were 14 I think I would enjoy it a lot more.
