Missing Pieces is a story about family tragedy and the heartbreak of having to cope with the death of their little girl little Phoebe who was only two years old, without giving too much of the story away, it takes you through to what Linda and Tom, her mum and dad went through, what I loved most about this book was that it kept you guessing as to how she died, it had me totally gripped throughout, I really enjoyed it.

All I can say is, make sure you have a box of tissues with you when you read this one! What a rollercoaster of a story.

Thank you to the publisher/NetGalley for sending me a copy!

This is the story of a family being torn apart by the accidental death of one of the children. It's a story of two parts, with the second taking place 25 years later, when the youngest daughter is pregnant.

Turns out this is Laura Pearson's debut novel, which might explain why the story feels a little disjointed. I absolutely hated the mother and her over the top grieving. I also didn't understand why the father only reconnected with Marianne 25 years later - what a waste of years.

A heart wrenching book from start to finish.

The story begins with a tragic funeral that should have been able to be avoided - pheobe (3) had lost her life. Part one of the book written during the days following the funeral tells us of the huge impact this loss has had on the family, how each of the surviving members - mother (pregnant), father and sister were dealing with their sorrow. More tradgedy ensues.
Part two, written years after brings into the story the new sister who knew little about her ‘absent’ sister begins to question what actually happened all those years ago.

A story of family, heartache and acceptance. A highly recommended read.
