This was a very good youth witch book!! I really enjoyed the family dynamics in this one as well as how the supporting characters were written. I was a little afraid at first of the length of the book but it honestly flew by once I got into the story. I am very excited to learn this will be a series. I love stories that take place in Salem and this one was excellent. Cannot wait for the next one in the series.

A very well thought out and thorough book, I loved the way this author set the scene and the vibe of the house/town/storyline. Enjoyed the dynamic between blue and Eleanor. I enjoyed how the book had a number of different plot lines happening at once, made it very exciting. But, personally, I know she’s only seventeen but Eleanor was very frustrating in this book, consistently going against what everyone said, never asking for help, sneaking out and thinking she knows best. Her mam and aunties just never knowing how to parent her properly etc but overall I enjoyed the details of this book and would recommend to read if you enjoy more witchy vibes

This one started off slow, but once it picked up I was IN IT. Kept me on the edge of my seat and I just wanted to keep reading to see what happens. If the author writes any other books I will definitely be reading!

I admittedly struggled a lot with this book in the beginning. The story moved very slowly and I was having a hard time connecting with the main character. Some of the writing felt dated and my copy had a lot of typos. It could have used more editing.

All that said, I became much more invested in the story
once Eleanor began her magic training.
I enjoyed the magic system, the different branches of magic, the use of the familiars. I became attached to some of the characters, and even Eleanor grew on me as she became more confident in her magical abilities.

The next book is due out Fall 2024, I believe. I was very tempted to DNF this one toward the beginning, but I ended up enjoying it in the end. I’ll probably pick up the next book in the series once it’s out to see where the story goes.

I just couldn't stand the main character. It was actually hard to love any of the characters. The MC's cat was my favorite but I didn't care enough about him to keep going. Maybe I could have enjoyed this if I read it earlier in life but the teenage drama and worries was too much for me. I am curious how things turned out though. It's why I kept at it for so long, I really wanted to see the mystery to its end but I took a break from reading it and just couldn't force myself to continue.
