I just love Junji Ito. These stories are deliciously dark and out there and the artwork is equally dark, horrific, and gorgeous. Each story had just the right amount of everything, including perfect twists.

My first Junji Ito, as well as my first manga.
Picked this up because I was in the mood for something spooky and fast paced, and it did not disappoint. Made me want to keep exploring this format. Really enjoyed it.

3.6 - I really enjoyed this collection of short stories and it was a quick but fun read. The art was stunning as always and I really liked mostly all of the stories.
The standouts were:

Futon

Gentle Goodbye

Dissection Chan

Whispering Woman

I have a hard time reading manga because it's so expensive for how short of an experience you get, but I freaking LOVE Junji Ito! His stories are so well written even though they're fast, and I love his type of horror. At slme places the scene is getting tense and as you tur th epage for the reveal there's one large SUPER detailed picture that just stops your breath. The only critique I have is that his endings sometkmes feel kind of like he's just slapping together something quick, although that's very rarely. My favourite story was the last one, which has been made into an episode of the Junji Ito anime series on Netflix.
