TW: age gap, adult-minor relationship & sexual harassment

“Do I like you, Oliver? I worship you.” –Elio

The way Elio describes everything is so beautiful. The way he uses his words is beautiful. This book gives a good picture of having a crush. The longing of the crush when they give you the silent treatment, when they briefly touch your hands, the looks they’ll give you, the jealousy when they're with someone else and also the longing to confess the undying love. I love how Elio is just like all of us when having a crush.

Honestly I don't know what else to say abt this book. There are quotes that I highlighted and all of them are so beautiful.

Also, Elio is so unhinged when he's horny. This book seriously has no filter when it comes to sex.

This book is so Gorgeous and august by Taylor Swift.

it's a tricky one. the writing itself is stunning, however some of the themes or things that go down don't sit well with me. Firstly, the man guy is 17 when they met and he was 24. On top of this, there are times where
Elio would constantly ask and ask, even after Oliver said no for sex. And one example when he does say no, Elio put his hand on Oliver's crotch area. Also, Elio finds Oliver watching him in his sleep and says that if Oliver were to try anything, he'd be okay with it, but to Oliver's knowledge, Elio isn't awake to consent. It's just all a bit :/

Wow.. this was gross in multiple parts.  Elio compared the peach to a SA victim🧐 I’m glad the film cut out the problematic bits. This book just felt like the author writing down his weird fetishes
The movie overall is better and this book just felt creepy and the author is a self proclaimed pedophile so take that as you will
