The faux biography Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin astounds at every possible juncture. Centring a pair of marginalized video game developers and their rise to fame, her book delves deep into the psyche of both major characters. She plots their success at forming their game company Unfair Games, their fights (creative and personal), the consequences of their success, their separation and their reunion. Every character leaps off the page and demands to be a player, not an NPC, and the characters' pasts heavily influence their development and their actions. I have never read a book so enthralling, so personal, or so realistic. I eagerly await more from Zevin and her incredible mind!

hoooooooooooollllyyyyyyyyyy this was one heck of a book
this book grabbed my heartstrings and made me FEEL

the characters were frustrating and flawed at times, but nevertheless, i felt myself root for them, i empathised deeply with them, and i felt my heart break when theirs broke.
the story was also very sad - sadder than i expected
Spoiler when marx died i was devastated, both at his death and at the repurcussions it would have on sadie and sam

i liked at all the issues and ideas that gabrielle zevin explored in the book, and i also liked the interwoven scenes of game playthrough and how it aided the narrative flow. it was especially sweet to see how sadie and sam bonded over games.

perhaps the pacing felt a little slow sometimes, or a little repetitive, but
i thoroughly enjoyed this tragic tale of grief, loss, connection and ultimately, love.

"i love you."
"terribly."

God this book is fucking phenomenal. Very life-affirming, very emotional, very devastating, very beautiful. It ripped out my heart and broke me and then put me back together. I love it.
