This is probably my favorite quick-and-easy queer information guide that I've read. Generally, I find their definitions too stiffling and their presumptions about who is reading their books (and who... doesn't exist) to be kind of silly. This book was much better in those regards - although I wish there was a little more than just acknowledgment that the hypothetical teen girl who reads the book could become not-a-girl later. (If I had read this at 14, I would've been like, what do they mean by that???) Otherwise, it's very inclusive (very affirming of trans girls!), easy-to-read, and has gorgeous art. I would've rated it higher if not for one egregious problem... the colors of the pages. For some reason, many of the pages are darkly colored and the text on them is black, which made it hard for me to read those pages. For a book that talks about disabiltiy alongside queerness so much, my eyes were not feeling that their weaknesses had been considered.

Where do I start? I just love this book so much! My first self help read that I feel like I still need to learn more and more about queer community as a queer person myself.
This book told me everything I need to know.
With an informative book like this, I am sure people out there who just realized that they are queer feel accepted. This book made me feel accepted so much! Other perfect nonfiction!
Thanks to Rowan Ellis for sharing!💜

This is a great read for teens, young adults, and adults alike to learn more about the wide spectrum which defines and redefines queerness. It touches on tools for people to find community, exploring sexuality/gender expression, historical figures and more! Lots of great follow-up resources are mentioned as well which is helpful.

Great educational resource both for a baby gay or an ally. Feminist and intersectional I don’t think I could’ve put it better myself. I Needed this as a kid and even now I’m 20 as someone still finetuning my identity this was such a helpful book to read and made me feel seen and included atop of educating me on some stuff I didn’t fully know
