It was a nice peek into daily life of CJ but I just felt bad for the villain instead of rooting for Claudia. Maybe there were constraints with the length of the book but I wouldn't have minded just seeing more daily life instead of having a villain at all especially more Reyna, Hazel, and Frank.

While I definitely enjoyed getting another peek at Camp Jupiter, and I understand that this was just a short story, I do wish there had been a little more detail and that we'd learned a little more about Claudia. The journal format did work for the story and I liked the protagonist!

*Spoilers for The Burning Maze and so on!!!!!!*

Lovely to see more Camp Jupiter. Gods I missed Frank and Reyna.

We finally got more Camp Jupiter campers. I really liked all the new characters. Claudia is pretty nice and fun character, and it's nice to see some of the legacy campers. I also really liked Janica and Blaise. I really don't know what more should I say about them. I really hope they survived all the attacks in Trials of Apollo. Kinda sad to think that some of them might have been turned into zombies or be brutally murdered. But that's just demigod life I quess. :(

I really loved all the art! It was so pretty and the characters looked really nice. It was also really helpful when I tried to imagine all the weapons and stuff. All the art made the book a lot more fun to read.

Now that I read this book, I can't decide which camp would I want to go. Camp Half-blood will always have as special place in my heart but Jupiter seems fun too. The only problem is Lupa's training which I would absolutely not survive. I also like camp half-blood necklaces more than Jupiter's tattoos. Seriously, who thought that it was a good idea to give child soldiers tattoos. Also why is the legion led by teenagers? We know that New Rome has adults. Claudia is literally twelve and she is already a soldier. And Jason was like three when he joined the legion and became a soldier! Camp Jupiter is really messed up.
To be fair so is Camp Half-Blood. Chiron literally lied to little kids about the battle in Nero's tower. And he sends little kids to quests. These demigods have seriously messed up childhoods.

Okay moving on from rambling, I'm kinda sad that we didn't even have a mention of Hazel or Lavinia. I love Hazel so much and I was really excited to see her again. Well I quess I just need to read fanfictions for Hazel. But i'm happy that we got Frank and Reyna! Speaking of Frank, does he just move everywhere as a crow? If I remember correctly in Tyrant's tomb he came to the cafe as a crow, and now he also flew around as a crow. That's kinda cool. To be fair if I had shapeshifting abilities, I would do that too.

One thing was kinda confusing. When does this book's events happen? If I correctly understood, it would be between Tyrant's Tomb and Tower of Nero, but it doesn't make sense. Reyna is still a praetor instead of Hazel and everything is normal. If it was between Tyrant's tomb and Tower of Nero they would probably still be fixing the damage of the battle of San Francisco bay.

I also kinda wish we would get this kind of book about Camp Jupiter before the events of Heroes of Olympos. I just really want to see little Jason and Reyna. We seriously need to see more of Jason's time at Camp Jupiter. Or maybe I'm still just really desperated to see Jason alive and well. But it also would be nice to see Dakota, Gwen and even Octavian. I just really want to see more of them before the second giant war. I also want to know what happens to the kids who doesn't pass Lupa's training. Do they just move on and continue living in the outside world or what? I need answers!!

But anyway, this is my second favorite extra book. My favorite will still be Percy Jackson's greek gods, but this is book is a really good second. It was fast and fun read! :D
