Even after re-reading this classic children story I still find it simply beautiful. A toy that becomes real through the love of a boy.

This time I'm giving it 3 stars as I also find that If I stop and actually think about the whole story there is something missing and doesn't feel as special. That's why in the moment of finishing reading this book I would give it 4 stars but since days have passed and I'm considering the story more it's down to 3 stars.

I found my childhood copy and decided to give it a re-read. Was fun seeing which spread was most-loved (when the pretty fairy appears).

Overall, Margery was able to evoke a wide breadth of emotions (fear, sadness, loneliness, belonging) in few words. Wonder if this story of a rabbit has anything to do with my love of Watership Down.

This is a sweet story that I remember from childhood. The story of a stuffed rabbit that wants to be real. This brings back so many childhood memories.

I can't believe I have never read this before! Delightful.

This was a read aloud, and when the fairy appeared, suddenly both of my big kids were in either side of me, listening intently.
