Received an ARC copy of The Right One by Felice Stevens

Who doesn't love a sexy tattooed grumpy man? Apparently Morgan. Until the impossible happened or that's what Morgan tells himself as he finds said grumpy man aka Leo invades his senses making him feel things he thought were buried away.

Morgan is a kind soul who found himself married to an abusive husband that killed the very essence of his caring being. He turned into someone he hated and believed the words of a bastard that told him was nothing. Words were not the only thing that said bastard used it was also his fist and while Morgan hoped things will get better it only got worse. Morgan did the only thing to save his life and that was to run away from the monster.

Leo had to battle his own kind of monster at a very young age and he grew up to keep everyone away. He built a wall so high that even the few people he called his friends never knew about his past.

Here's the tale of two broken souls and the mystery that pulled them together in a building owned by Leo with a tenant with a flair of many 'oops' in his path. Morgan rents the apartment in Leo's building and from the very beginning fell for his superintendent by falling down a few steps landing at his feet. Leo was curious about Morgan and believed something had happened to his rich marriage for him to be slumming it in Brooklyn with the likes of him. It was that curiosity that drew Morgan more and more to him but he couldn't seem to keep the cute klutzy man out of his mind. It was the same for Morgan with Leo because he was so not what he thought he wanted and everything his soul needed...to feel cared for and safe.

I loved reading about two polar opposites coming together to form the THEIR perfect form of love. Leo with his actions first and think about it later mentality. Morgan with his not taking crap from anyone's attitude. It sparked an intense fire that they were both willing to get burn for even if it was only for a little while.

A very enjoyable sexy read that had me smiling from beginning to the very end. Let Morgan and Leo put a SPRING in your hearts and would have ya craving cookies big time.

DNF. no chemistry between leads, kiss happens out of nowhere, and leo's relationship/history with his mom is strange and unrealistic.

Another great low angst romance from Felice about two men with demons who learn to love themselves and each other. Was the story a bit predictable? Sure, but I still enjoyed the writing, the characters and the romance. Definitely pick this up if you love a bit of an enemies-to-lovers dynamic, fire chemistry, and Felice’s specialty - really romantic lines.

Whyyyyy did I keep reading this? I don't normally like to compare books, but it's like a pale imitation of Galaxies and Oceans, and the characters’ reactions and motivations were all over the place. No consistency, which made me side eye a lot. I think I kept at it bc I wanted to see if it was going to be as predictable as I could . . . predict. (It was.) I have enjoyed a couple of other books by this author, but she is very hit or miss. This was definitely a miss for me.
