I loved this book - it exceeded every expectation I had. However, I don't even want to talk about what it's about because I went in semi blind and I think that going in semi blind and watching all of it unfold before me is what made me like it so much. All I knew was that I loved "In My Dreams I Hold a Knife," and that this cover was stunning in design and intriguing. I never even read the synopsis.

***That being said, the reason I'm able to do that is because I'm not triggered by very many things in books, but if you are, please take care of yourself and do not go into this blindly!***

I thought that this was a (mostly) well crafted thriller wherein the protag (and everyone else, for that matter) doesn't know who to trust and not trust, where nothing is quite as it seems and some things are exactly as they seem. This book gave me a lot to chew on in terms of misogyny, rape culture, and the like.

There was one very small detail that I found kind of....stupid? I obviously can't say what it was here, but I found myself going "yeah, okay" and doing that silent laugh thing where you puff air out of your nose. However, I didn't hold that against the book completely and I still will voraciously read anything Ashley Winstead writes.
