I had seen this book over and over again in lists of books that I should read. I eventually decided to try it as part of a reading challenge - to read a book in a day. I'd heard that it was one that you simply couldn't put down. I can see why.
Between the anecdotal narration and the cherry-picked quotes, you are handed a two-way mirror into the narrator's life, into a marriage and a life that hasn't gone quite according to plan. It is an absolutely gorgeous triumph of a novel and I would read it again in a heartbeat.
(And yes, it took all of four hours for me to read it from cover to cover).

Unconventional. Poetic. Contagiously sad.

Tight and taut. A book to admire for its craftsmanship, but I was emotionally unmoved.

De los sueƱos y del amor a la rutina, a la costumbre, al aburrimiento. Y tratar de volver a empezar.

Inventive and sparse style. This book provides snippets into the characters world and life. It is a montage in writing like a short film where so little is shown but a life is communicated. The reader picks up the threads of what is happening even with the little character development you feel what the character feels. It is a great discussion book and would highly recommend.
