Another vampire romantasy but this time the world it takes place in is unique and brutal. I loved the idea that the land of the vampires had a red Sun the idea of this Kingdom bathed in the color of blood was unsettling and set the scene for this dark romance. A classic Trope of a princess being sold off to a neighboring King in order to gain an alliance, this book takes an enemies to lovers approach and ends up with Fierce Warriors falling for each other, betrayal, secrets, and quite a bit of very spicy action.

I felt the pace of this book was good. The overall plot development was also great, I felt that this was a good continuation of this series. However, I disliked how often our main couple argued over really dumb stuff, and questioned the amount of spice. The side characters in the book, kept questioning Adrian about being distracted by his girl, and in response to that he just is all over her all of the time. Would love more plot in between the spice. But that’s just my personal opinion.

I really wanted to love this book but I just didn’t. I felt like the characters weee strangers honestly, the romance felt like it was on the back burner of a very confusing plot that I’m still not sure I understand. I have hope this is just setting us up for an amazing third book but I’m definitely cautious.

I did not enjoy this one as much as the first one. I felt like Adrian and Isolde spent the whole time either fighting or f*cking no in between. Also how did no one know Ana was Ravena? Confusing? And how would they get a god out of Adrian? Hopefully they are a little more in love on the next one?

Reading the author's notes at the back of this books explains a lot... "I am often asked if I know where a book or series is headed, and I usually have some vague idea." This book had SO much potential and fell short unfortunately. So many exciting plot lines that weren't explored enough or fleshed out. There is so much to touch on but don't have the energy to go into it. This book definitely is a filler for book three.

I was really looking forward to this book but it didn’t do it for me. I loved the first book but I struggled to finish this one. The spice and plot was underwhelming to me.

I am ugly crying but I’m ready for book 3 of this series I’ll never get enough of Adrian and Isolde. Scarlett st Clair did it again. And I love it
