The art work here is good, but that’s about it. I wasn’t a fan of either story. The first one I liked better with the bikers, but that’s it.

This is the third book I've read this week that featured a motorcycle gang and drugs. I might need to read a smexy book soon.

The first story in this book kinda lost me a bit. A motorcycle gang is running from a lone truck. Smashing and bashing happen. Not bad. I like smashing and bashing. (Yes, I do know how weird I am)

Then the second one..is bad-ass. It's based on the movie "Duel" that Joe Hill watched with his dad back in the day. They collaborated on these stories later on. (One of the best parts of this book is letters added that were written by them)

Watch out for those truckers in your rear view windows kiddies.

This graphic novel had Throttle first followed by Duel, which was the reverse of the audiobook I listened to.  I think the graphic novelization helped Throttle, especially with the multitude of characters.  I was not a fan of the computer dot shading technique though.  However, the art in Duel really captured the tense feeling of the story.
Overall, both graphic novelizations were true to the original stories, with dialog and prose lifted straight from the books.

Duel started pretty well, was tight and grew in anxiety and excitement, but it def went over the edge for me. Got a bit too over the top. It was fine. Wish the whole thign had been as successful as the beginning.

Throttle was kind of a just a reskinned duel, and was less good tbh. Overall, these were fine at best. Probably going in with semi high expectations for the Matheson left me a little disappointed (I don't ever have high expectations for King)
