I started off reading this book after seeing someone compare it to the movie Nerve but with high schoolers as the main characters. This honestly should have given me all I needed to know but I guess because of the premise, I expected a lot more of this book than I got.
The good things first, it was fast-paced, I got a clear motive from each of the 2-3 main characters and I didn't find it predictable.
Despite this, if there is such a thing as too many narrators, you have it here. Aside from Kaylee and maybe 2 others I couldn't keep track of who was who, or what motives each person had. I barely got an idea of who half the characters were which made it hard to empathise or care for their actions and wellbeing.
I also was not fond of Kaylee or Nate at all. I get that they're like 16 but Kaylee was so bland aside from her brother's sickness, there was nothing that made me like her. Nate was bland as well, I did not see the appeal of him to Kaylee or in general.
Overall, while I was not keen on basically any of the characters, it was quick and easy to get through. Something that I don't have strong feelings for.
