A delightful start to a new series!

Abigail Hembree is a widowed mother of two, trying to build a new life for her children after escaping an abusive marriage. When she's offered the opportunity to have a school of her very own, with the stipulation that she travels out west to be a mail-order bride.
After a brush with death, Matthias Blake discovers he wants nothing more than to have a family. When Abigail and her children enter his life, he has his work cut out for him to gain their trust.
I loved the plot twists and the interactions with characters from the authors previous books. This was a delightful start to the series and I'm looking forward to reading each one!

This was truly an adventure. Abigail had to set aside her fear and wariness to start a new life out west for her and her children. The fact that her benefactor Wiggie had encouraged this step and there was an incentive to start her own school was a plus. Matthias yearned for a family of his own. He took a leap of faith and put out an ad for a bride. What he received in return was so much more.

I enjoyed this story and seeing their relationship develop. It was a story about learning to trust again and allowing others to share your burdens.

The third book in the Sunset Valley series and the first in the Alphabet Mail-order Brides series, I can't wait to read more in both of these worlds.
