From all CH books ive read this has to be my least favorite. I didn't necessarily hate it but i wouldn't probably read it again either, and i love re-reading books. I liked the characters, they made me feel things , or perhaps CH writing made me feel things but i felt like this book tried so hard to "normalise" cheating to an extend and i am not here for it tbh. So perhaps let me warn you that there is kind of a cheating trope involved. Other than that, the romance between the main characters was kind of cute and angsty which are two qualities i like in romance books but the whole sort of cheating thin really threw me off and as much as i wanted to love this book i just couldnt .

I am once again in awe of Colleen Hoover's writing and storytelling. Enough said.

(No spoilers but bordering on)

It’s a book you love or hate and I hated it.

FirstlyI’ll start off with what I liked;
The format for one it set off with the drama and then went back in time working up till the event and then carried on from there as normal which was fun and different.
I liked how obviously in every book you don’t have to agree with the protagonist, but in this book I just really didn’t like the two mains.
I also liked how there was album to go along with the book, it made it more enjoyable.
The multiple POVs was also nice to read, always good to see two sides of the story.

For what I didn’t like;
None of the characters were making choices I would stand behind, it must have been a sign of the times for 2014.
The cheating trope is just awful, I feel so icky the whole way through, I was constantly putting myself in the other persons shoes and It was a horrible time.
The use of “slut” “bitch” “whore” or just slut shaming (women hating on women) in a written by a man tone, again very much 2014. Also shaming women for getting work done (plastic surgery), not what I wanna be reading tbh.
I don’t like how they all claim to be innocent and morally correct the whole way through, until shit hits the fan but then the characters feel justified again and it felt sour and to give the story and happy ending when it was awful what happened,
I never shipped the characters together. That’s a main part of reading a romance book: rooting for the couple, and I never did, but at the same time they were both bad so ultimately they kinda deserved each other.
Also EVERY character hated this one girl who I thought was the only reasonable one. Like putting myself in that girls shoes i’d feel the same way. Justice for her because she was my favourite. (Bridgett)

That’s about it, kinda a waste of my reading time if I’m honest. But if you like it or if it’s something you think you’d like then good for you, hope you have fun x

i've owned this book for awhile so decided to finally go for it. again, i just think her books are not for me. every time i just feel like the romance, or characters, or something isn't right. not bad, i just didn't like the whole way the characters got together and it kept throwing me off.

5 great big maybe someday Goodreads will give us another star and I'll change this to 6 stars AMAZING!

I mean really there aren't enough words to express how awesome this book is! I will seriously have a book hang over after this one. I will be thinking about it for days and days! I miss the characters already! I think I'm going to have to read something bloody and murderous next because no other romance will measure up following this one!

Let's just say that this book is a guilty pleasure of mine. I sat here contemplating about whether I should dock off a star because I hate stories where person A is single but person B isn't but omg person A and person B are meant to be together so why should anything else matter.

This book reminds me a little of Anna and the French Kiss.

But I'm horrible and I love the sexual tension and I love the romance between Sydney and Ridge. It was just so beautiful to me the way they became friends and the way they communicate with each other. Not to mention I love Sydney and Ridge individually as well so I couldn't help myself and give the book a perf 5.

There is something about Colleen Hoovers books that just suck me in! This was a read in one sitting book for me! There were some parts that were a little repetitive, but overall a great emotionally charged read
