Maybe glad I read it? I wanted to protect Aisha. If Barnes and Due work together again, I may try reading their work. This was definitely grim though!

Wanted another quick book to start the year, so I snagged this one off the shelf and binged it.
Due is a new to me author, which really says something about the state of horror (and my own efforts if truth be told) because she is not new to the genre, yet I am only now hearing about her.
This was fine. I didn’t think it did enough work at being unsettling, and it definitely felt like the storyboard for the never-made movie it was sourced from. I do understand, however, that this is meant for a young audience, and they could very well enjoy it, especially those in circumstances similar to the main character.
